I grew up in North Vancouver, British Columbia, surrounded by mountains, ocean air, and ever-changing skies. Nature shaped my creative spirit early on. As a child, I was always drawing, colouring, and eventually painting the moment I could hold a brush. Art wasn’t just something I enjoyed — it was where I felt most grounded.

As I moved into my teenage years, life brought challenges that tested my strength in ways I never expected. During difficult seasons, art and poetry became more than hobbies — they became anchors. They gave me focus, clarity, and a safe place to process what words alone could not express.

Years later, after a serious accident left me unable to work and nearly unable to walk, I found myself facing spinal surgery with an uncertain future. Around that same time, my mother was diagnosed with stage four cancer and given only six months to live.

Those months changed everything.

I built a small hospice space in my living room and cared for my mom at home. In the middle of heartbreak, I returned to my art with deeper purpose than ever before. Painting became both healing and hope. Creating gave me strength when I felt I had none.

When I began making custom tumblers, it started with something simple — I wanted my mom’s drinks to stay cold and to make them personal just for her. From there, Lynn’s Art Studio BC began to grow. Later, when we held a celebration of life for my mom before she passed, I created memorial apparel for our family. That was my first deeply personal memorial piece.

After her passing, I took time to grieve and step back.

Now, I am returning with renewed purpose.

Today, my work carries everything I have lived through — resilience, remembrance, movement, and healing. Whether through expressive fluid art, contemporary pieces, memorial creations, or custom designs, every piece is created with intention and heart.

Art, for me, is not just decoration. It is connection. It is comfort. It is hope. It is a reminder that even in our hardest seasons, beauty can still emerge.
